We are now accepting applications for cohort 10 of the Diploma of School Business Management (DSBM), which will commence in June 2009. The application round for this cohort will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 25 March for external applications and 12 noon on Wednesday 15 April for internal applications.
Experienced school business managers (who are either members of, or working closely with, their school leadership team) operating in state-maintained schools in England, or those with school business management responsibilities within local authorities, are eligible to apply for DSBM. NCSL provides a limited number of government-funded places on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF).
However, individuals who are not already in a school business manager role based within a school or a local authority and are looking to enter the school business management profession, are also able to apply for DSBM as an external applicant.
The selection criteria and administrative procedures differ for internal and external applicants. Follow the link below that applies to you in order to progress to the correct application form and further details on the DSBM programme.
We strongly advise that all applicants should first complete the Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM). If you are not a CSBM graduate, you will be asked for further details regarding your professional and academic background in the form of an APEL (accreditation of prior experience and learning).
Your APEL must be submitted as part of your application by the closing date. It is essential that when uploading your APEL that you input a description into the mandatory description field. The APEL document must be uploaded as a .doc file. It will then be assessed by a qualified tutor prior to acceptance onto the programme.
